It is also home to many well-known celebrities, like Janice Street-Porter, Harry Hill, Greg Wallace and David Essex. It is also understood that celebrity chef Tom Kerridge has recently bought a Beach side hut/house in Seasalter.
Local Area Of Whitstable
Whitstable is well known for its excellent local seafood produce, in particular Whitstable Oysters, enjoyed by Prince Charles on a visit a couple of years ago. Nearby is Harbour Street, a small road with an array of small boutiques from "The White Stuff" and Peekaboo's to the Jones Fish and Chip restaurant. There is a great delicatessen and a tapas Bar - so food and a great variety is never a problem. Little alley ways from Harbour Street lead towards popular beaches and the Working Harbour, which always draws a crowd. There is also the wonderful Tankerton Castle, complete with recently re-landscaped gardens and a Lawn Bowls club.
