Medway offers convenient transport links to London, with direct services linking Rochester, Gillingham and Chatham to St Pancras in 45 minutes or less. From Medway, it's also easy to reach the Eurotunnel and Channel ports, with the M2 and M20 connecting it to Folkestone around an hour away on the coast.

A short history of Medway

Medway has a long and proud history dating right back to the Iron Age. Rochester was an important Roman town, and today you can still see the remains of the walls that once surrounded it. Medway is also famous for its historic links with Charles Dickens, who grew up in Chatham and based many of his works on places in Rochester. The latter town hosts a summer and Christmas festival dedicated to the author each year.
