Rainham lies close to both the M2 and A2, linking it to Dover and the coast and London to the north. Trains to St Pancras and London Victoria leave Rainham station every hour, with journey times of between 50 and 60 minutes. Rainham station also offers direct trains to Folkestone Central, taking approximately one hour 15 minutes.

A short history of Rainham

Rainham expanded rapidly in size with the arrival of its train line in the mid-19th century. The original village dates back much further, and today you can still see several historic buildings in and around the town. St Margaret’s church, just off the high street, still has some part of its Norman structure embedded in its east wall.
