From Tunbridge Wells, it's easy to travel by train into London, with services departing every 30 minutes at peak time for Charing Cross and London Bridge, with journey times of under an hour.

A short history of Tunbridge Wells

Queen Victoria reportedly loved Tunbridge Wells, and the town gained its royal title from her son King Edward VII in 1909. It was a famous spa town in the 18th and 19th centuries, and today you can see remnants of its former spa splendour at the Chalybeate Spring on The Pantiles. The town is also famous for its Tunbridge Ware, and these distinctively decorative wooden accessories can still be purchased from antique stores along the high street.
