A short history of Walderslade

Walderslade was once a tiny village surrounded by a wooded valley, but it expanded quickly with the rise to prominence of the Medway towns. St William's Church opened in 1973; today, the area has a population of approximately 10,000. During building work in the 1960s, two gold bracelets dating back to the Bronze Age were discovered at Walderslade and can be seen at the British Museum.
